Skin Conditions

SKIN CONDITIONS

ECZEMA
Dealing with eczema isn't easy. It can severely impair your life and make you feel unattractive, it can increase confidence. Using makeup on skin that has eczema can be tricky. You run the risk of clumping and a cakey look. However, you can prevent this by using make up that is made from all natural ingredients. Applying foundation to the skin is the trickiest part of covering up your eczema. You will want to use enough foundation to hide the redness, but not so much that it appears clumpy and thick. Too much makeup can make your eczema worse. Instead of putting on layer after layer, try using a light green makeup stick or foundation to cover up red spots, then use a lightweight foundation for an even skin tone. For darker skin, use a yellow-based makeup stick to hide your blemishes, then use your regular foundation over that. Many people with eczema tend to get seriously dry skin around their eyes. This makes applying eyeshadow a bit difficult. However, it's not impossible. Use products that are water-based so you won't need strong makeup removers at the end of the day. Stay away from sparkly or shimmery tones and stick to eyeshadows with a matte finish. Avoid pulling on the skin when applying the makeup. Instead, use gentle even strokes with a clean brush to avoid excess irritation.

OILY SKIN
It can be very frustrating trying to find the right makeup for oily skin. Before you even apply makeup, start with a foundation primer. Choose a primer formulated especially for oily skin. Mineral makeup is one of the best types for oily skin. Mineral makeup makers say that it absorbs excess oil since it is in a powder form, and also contains vitamins that are good for the skin. Bare Escentuals also makes a very popular Mineral Veil that provides a finishing touch over makeup mineral, liquid or any other finish. you should avoid any products containing oil of any sort, so you don't exacerbate your problem. Avoid makeup containing alcohol, which is drying and is not good for any skin type, and can even cause your pores to go into oil producing overdrive.

Halloween characters

Morticia Addams
Morticia is originally a pale, dark-haired, grim-looking little girl. To recreate this character i would apply a very light foundation as white as you could get, a white powder base should be applied to give the face that pale look. For the eyes i would do a smokey eye to give that more evil look by applying a light grey in the corner of the eye gradually making it darker as you go along. A black liquid liner should be applied to the upper and under eyelid to give it that finishing look. Morticia lips are quite dark so a dark brown or deep lipstick should do the trick also using matching a lip pencil before applying the lipstick.

TIGGER
For a tigger facepiant your just basically doing a tiger so to start i would start with the ehite around the nose and between the eyes then using an orange grease palet start from the outer part of the face coming in toward the centre. I would blend the yellow into the orange and white so it doesnt look to odd. Using a paint brush i would then start drawing the black tiger lines and just start from the top working your way down the face. White dots should be added around the lip/nose are to give a whister look also painting the nose black. The lips should be done red and outlined using black.

Cruella Devill

Cruella de Vil is one Halloween costume that allows you to be unabashedly sexy, villainous and runway-ready at the same time. Creating a Cruella de Vil makeup look requires blood red or magenta lips. Full strips of long false lashes in black would give the eyes that omph look applying a black liner to the under eyelid and corner or the inner part of the eye going right up over the upper lid so the liner almost like a diamond shape. Her skin tone is very pale so a light foundation should be applied and a white powder to keep the foundation from sliding off. A pink blusher should highlight the cheeks to give that finished look.

WIGS

WIGS

The ancient egyptions wore wigs to shield their shaved, hairless heads from the sun. The Egyptians also wore the wigs on top of their hair using beeswax and resin to keep the wigs in place. Other ancient cultures, including the Assyrians, Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans, also used wigs.

17th century wigs were quite detailed, covering the back and shoulders and flowing down the chest, they were also extremely heavy and often uncomfortable to wear. wigs were expensive to produce. The best examples were made from natural human hair. The hair of horses and goats was often used as a cheaper alternative.

Women's wigs developed in a somewhat different way. They were worn from the 18th century onwards, although at first only surreptitiously. Full wigs in the 19th and early 20th century were not fashionable. They were often worn by old ladies who had lost their hair. Hairdressers in England and France did a brisk business supplying postiches, or pre-made small wiglets, curls, and false buns to be incorporated into the hairstyle.

Wigs are worn by some people on a daily or occasional basis in everyday life nowadays. This is sometimes done for reasons of convenience, since wigs can be styled ahead of time. They are also worn by individuals who are experiencing hair loss due to medical reasons. Wigs are very common and are worn by many celebrites some that change there look daily. They may also be worn for fun as part of fancy dress when they can be of outlandish colour or made from tinsel. They are quite common at Halloween. Wigs are used in film, theater, and television where there usually made to reflect the type of character being played.

Curriculum for Excellence

Curriculum for Excellence is the national curriculum for Scottish Schools for learners from age 3 to 18. It was developed out of a 2002 consultation exercise the 'National Debate on Education' undertaken by the Scottish Executive on the state of school education.

There are four key purposes of education that enable young people to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.

I think the curriculum for excellence is important for us to understand and know what its about.

I think im a successful learner because i like to work to the best of my abilities and reach high standards. I also love using technology to do research and learn new things. I can work both independinly and in a group.

I think im a confident individual because im able to speak out when needed for example if theres something im not sure about or want to put a point across. I am able to do things independintly.

Fantasy Films

JACK SPARROW
Jack Sparrow's look consisted of thick dreadlocks, gold teeth, a pleated goatee, a leather hat, beads in the hair, a red headband, black coat, the black eye make up and he was perfect!. To create this look i would start the smudgy eye look by giving the eye a base by using a concealer, applying in a patting motion across the eyelid, in the corners and a little underneath. Next i'd use a soft kohl black eyeliner starting at the inside corner drawing a medium sized line along the lash line then drawing along the inside lower lid then another line along that lower lash line. Using an angle brush i would then apply a little black powder eyeshadow above the line on the upper lid then the same underneath the eyes, brushing the shadow down a little further. To finish i would use my fingers to smudge out the upper eyeliner, blending it all over the eyelid then applying translucent powder to set!

EDWARD SISSORHANDS

Edwards character is very iconic and unusual, his look is very bizarre. To recreate the characters facial makeup i would create some scars using latex and perhaps some toilet paper to give it the effect that he catches his face with his scissor fingers. Large scars can be created by soaking a small amount of toilet paper in latex and sticking it onto the face pinching it to create a realistic scar on the face. Net i would apply a very pale almost white colour foundation or mixing some white grease paint with some foundation to the entire face and part of the neck. Some shading is needed so a reddish purple colour that looks like bruising can be applied to make him look guant. Creating dark circles around the eyes and streaks along the cheekbones then blending it well to look subtle. The lips are a deep purple shade. Using powder over the face and lips will make the face look dry rather than shiny.

History of make up

HISTORY OF MAKE UP
The history of face make-up dates thousands of years back to the 1st Century Egyptians were the first to use face make-up, they were the first to document the importance of makeup as an important part of culture as seen in the ancient Egyptian tomb paintings. Egyptians used natural ingredients such as unguent, a hydrating substance, and kohl, soot, to beautify the skin and appearance. Egyptians were very aware of the beauty of soft skin and seductive eyes. The eye make up they used concentrated in providing colour to their eyelashes, eye lids and eye brows. The favourite colours were black and green. The powders used to create the eye make up were ground on a palette then mixed with water to form a paste. Kohl is a mixed of soot and galena and was stored in a richly decorated container called a kohl pot.
